Our original gift boxes are made with Japanese washi paper crafted by Suzuki Shofudo, a long-established paper atelier in Kyoto. The subtly textured surface of the washi gives each box a distinctive and refined feel.

For gift wrapping, simply select “Add a Gift Bag” in your cart. Your item will be presented with a ribbon featuring the traditional Japanese ichimatsu (checkered) pattern, along with a shopping bag sized to fit.

In Tango, Kyoto—the birthplace of Tango Chirimen, a traditional silk crepe with a history spanning more than 300 years—kimono fabrics have traditionally been carefully wrapped in washi paper.

Inspired by this tradition, kuska atelier scarves are wrapped in washi paper traditionally used for kimono textiles.
